This is evident in a new manually managed transfer cart created for continuous material movement for a large auto manufacturer. The transfer cart incorporates significant safety mechanisms that also, focus on ease of use for the operator.
A transfer cart is an industrial delivery cart that is equipped with a conveyor roller top. The rollers aid in the transport of specific content in a conveyor like manner. This manual transfer cart is equipped with a stabilized walk on platform. The operator uses the walk on platform to engage material movement to and from the cart’s roller. As the cart is attached to tugger it moves from exchange stations at the main conveyor. Once stopped at an exchange station, the operator safely navigates their way on the walk on platform. Bordering the platform is a bronze engagement plate. The operator will step on plate to manually lower safety stops. The operator then, physically pushes the material off or onto the cart to or from the conveyor.
The cart is also designed with 6 recessed wheels to provide easy movement when in motion and the ability to design the cart frame size to utilize the largest available width in regards to aisle size.
