A large boat manufacturer needed to move extremely large material in and out of a facility that only had a standard overhead door to utilize. They wanted the cart created to develop a material movement process that was easy to plan out and reliable.
Topper was able to design custom, heavy duty Quad Steer with cut out frame. The cart is built to carry a 9’x24’ composite deck. It is a custom large cart with large all terrain wheels. The Quad Steer Cart also has tip down pintle ring towbar on both ends of the cart. This is important to the new material flow. It is a success solution to utilizing the standard overhead door. The operator is able to pull the cart forward one way into the building and then, also backwards out of the building with the large material. The cart is also four wheel steering allows the cart to track smoothly with optimal cornering.
